MDR wins prices at the children's media festival - great success for elephant, Tiger & Kids and Fritzi and Sophie
The MDR received several awards from the 32nd German Children's Media Festival "Goldener Spatz". In the "Entertainment" category, the MDR documentary series "Elefant, Tiger & Kids" and in the "Series Animation" category won the ARD co-production "Fritzi and Sophie-unlimited friendship". In addition, Soleen Yusef received the script price of the MDR circuit for the children's film "Be winner".
The ARD co-production "Fritzi and Sophie-Boundless Friendship" is based on the animated film "Fritzi-A Wend Wonder History" and tells in eight episodes of 22 minutes from a child's perspective of life, protests and escape in the GDR and the new start in the Federal Republic. The series will be broadcast at Kika from October 3, 2024.
The MDR documentary series "Elefant, Tiger & Kids" accompanies six young people at the internship at Leipzig Zoo and extends the well-known zoo documentary "elephant, tiger & co" with topics of animal and species protection. The second season starts on October 14, 2024 at Kika.
The children's film "Be winner" was developed by Soleen Yusef and tells a strong and emotional story for a young audience and the whole family. The film is expected to be first broadcast at Kika in the 4th quarter of 2025.
A total of 35 film and television contributions as well as six digital media offers were nominated at the "Golden Sparrow". Other nominated productions of the MDR were the Sandmann sequences "Tor transporters" and "Dr. Brumm photographed". Kika was represented with the movie "Spuk under the Ferris wheel" and the format "Speeed!", "Announcement!", "Team Timster", "Maari - Adventure on the Riff" and "#Ukraine - My Land in War"
