Massive railway closures: NRW Hannover route is comprehensively renovated!

From October 11th, the important railway line between NRW and Hanover will come to a standstill for extensive renovation work. The period of work extends until November 29 and has a massive impact on long-distance and local transport. ICE and IC compounds are particularly affected, some of which have to be completely or diverted, which leads to significant driving time extensions. For example, the entire ICE line from Bonn via Cologne to Berlin is eliminated, and many hold as well as in Bonn and Cologne.

In East Westphalia, several re-west and RB lines are canceled or are replaced by replacement buses. The first construction phase until October 18 brings numerous train failures between Bielefeld and Minden, while the second phase from 18 to 22 October only affects the section between Herford and Bünde. Train travelers must therefore prepare for significant restrictions and should adapt their travel plans accordingly. Details about the exact failures and diversions are to be found here .
