Civil registry office Marzahn-Hellersdorf: Delays in the case of dying certificates ended
The processing of civil service services at the Marzahn-Hellersdorf registry office is delayed massively due to an extremely tense personnel situation. Above all, the still open processing of around 800 death certificates has been emotionally and financially burdening those affected since the beginning of 2024. The Marzahn-Hellersdorf district office has repeatedly pointed out this unsustainable state and asked for urgent personnel support. District Mayor Nadja Zivkovic has now been able to achieve a short-term delegation from specialist staff from the State Office for Citizens' and Ordinary Matters (Labo) and support from the Pankow district for the Marzahn-Hellersdorf registry office.
The relief of the registry office by collegial support is scheduled to begin in May. In addition, the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district office among its own employees promoted intensive work in the registry office and also recruited registrars from the pool of the Senate Administration. District City Councilor Juliane Witt is confident that these measures will lead to an improvement in the situation at short notice and that activities can also be stabilized in the medium term. This also includes coordination with the state to a target agreement in order to be able to implement the new federal law regulations with sufficient personnel.
An effective solution to the personnel shortage at the registry office Marzahn-Hellersdorf is essential to ensure the processing of civil services and to enable those affected to process their concerns quickly. The collegial support from the Labo and the Pankow district office and the efforts of the district office to win additional staff show a positive development in the matter.
