Saatgut bond in district library: free of charge at the start of the season!
The district library "Erich Weinert" on the Springpfuhl offers its readers a new service from April 4, 2024 - the opportunity to rent seeds free of charge. This service comes on time at the start of the season and enables people to borrow a variety of seeds to grow flowers, vegetables, fruit and herbs at home.
The city library provides semen-proof organic seeds from Brandenburg and enables every visitor to select 2-3 seven bags. These seeds can then be sown on the balcony or in the garden at home. After the harvest, the dried seeds can be returned to the library to borrow them again. At each sack, instructions on the seed production of the respective plant are noted in order to make the process simple and accessible.
This offer not only serves your own gardening, but also to protect the insect variety and the preservation of old vegetable, fruit and flower varieties. By working together to create colorful and diverse gardens and balcony boxes, they contribute to the environment and biodiversity.
The district library "Erich Weinert" is looking forward to supporting your visitors to this project and invites everyone interested to visit the library or to find out more information on your website. The library opening times are from Monday to Tuesday and Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., as well as Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
