New modular primary school with sports hall in Marzahn-Hellersdorf celebrates the topping-out ceremony

On Friday, July 5, 2024, the topping-out ceremony for an innovative modular primary school with sports hall and outdoor facilities in Marzahn-Hellersdorf was celebrated. This construction project is part of the Berlin school building offensive (BSO II), at which the Senate Department for Urban Development, Building and Living on behalf of the Senate Administration for Education, Youth and Family.

The new Elsen primary school is built according to the concept of the Compermannschule, which enables diverse teaching and learning situations. Senator for urban development, building and living Christian Gaebler emphasized the flexibility and adaptability of this construction program, which already celebrated the seventh topping -out ceremony of this kind.

Senator for Education, Youth and Family Katharina Günther-Lüsch emphasized the importance of the new school for the community. With space for 576 students, she will create urgently needed school places and relieve neighboring schools. The innovative room concept and the barrier -free equipment offer space for inclusive education and modern all -day offers.

The modular construction of the primary school and the sports hall enables quick and economic implementation. The general contractor Klebl GmbH relies on prefabricated components that contribute to a shortened construction period. The total costs for this project amount to around 80 million euros.

With the topping -out ceremony for seventh modular primary school, the Berlin school building offensive sets a sign of a contemporary, sustainable educational infrastructure throughout the city. The Elsen primary school will not only be a place of learning, but also a central component of the community in Marzahn-Hellersdorf.
