Nesting boxes for birds and bats: Marzahn-Hellersdorf protects nature!
Marzahn-Hellersdorf, Deutschland - nag/nag editors -
in Marzahn-Hellersdorf is now being worried for the domestic wildlife! Impressive 331 nesting boxes for birds and 68 boxes for bats were installed in several green areas. This initiative, which was implemented in the picturesque Kaulsdorfer Lakes, along the Wuhlewanderweg and the Hönower pond chain, aims to improve the living conditions for our feathered friends and flying mammals.
Nature suffers - demolition work and the blind old trees are strongly increasing the habitats of birds and bats. But the installation of these nesting boxes is an important step to compensate for this loss. Thanks to the compensation tax, the financing could be secured. The active members of the NABU district group have taken over the assembly of the boxes and will also take care of their maintenance. Particularly exciting: In the Hönower Weiherkette landscape protection area, students from the surrounding schools take care of the kästen as part of their school forest lesson.
A step to promote biodiversity
This measure is not only a profit for the animals, but also a significant contribution to promoting biological diversity in the region. With this campaign, the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district office shows how important the protection and support of the domestic wildlife is. The nesting boxes not only offer a safe place to breed, but also contribute to preserving the ecological balance.
