New art initiative Marzahn-Hellersdorf: exhibition on aging art from February 17th

On Saturday, February 17, 2024, the new art initiative Marzahn-Hellersdorf invites you to open the exhibition “On the aging of art, artists and ideas”. The exhibition runs from February 19 to April 13, 2024 and presents works by various artists who throw a critical look at the apparently outdated and outdated. The main goal of this exhibition is to research the question of how contemporary approaches and ideas can exist without direct involvement of their original forerunners.

In this context, artists present their unique perspectives on the subject of “obsolete”. This exhibition offers a platform to celebrate the timelessness of art together and to deepen the dialogue about the aging of art, artists and ideas. The exhibition takes place in the “Project Room Galerie M” in the Marzahner Promenade 46, 12679 Berlin and is open Tuesday to Saturday from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. The gallery is closed on Sundays, Mondays and on public holidays and admission is free of charge.

Works by MIRCE Liljehult, Hans-Peter Stark, Nazli Kartina, Kristina Popov, Mozhgan Dinani, Nicolay Spesivtev and Dzina Zhuk / Eeefff, Daniel Bauke, Jana Jacob, Ahu Dural, Justina Los, Marco Schmitt, Ozgur Ozcan and other artists from NKI presented. The new art initiative is financially supported by the district office Marzahn, Office for Culture and Continuing Education.

The exhibition offers an opportunity to explore the local art scene and to support the artists of the region. With its diverse selection of works, the exhibition also offers the possibility of reflecting on the art of contemporary art with regard to the past and future. Visitors have the opportunity to deal with the dynamics between tradition and innovation and to explore the extent to which the past forms the present and inspires future developments.
