construction progress on the cultural asset: new perspectives for the community

In the heart of Alt-Marzahn, on the cultural asset, a new chapter is being built in the history of the community. Within just one year, the construction progress on the two out of four houses of the district culture has developed rapidly. Thanks to the financial support of the district and funding of a cross-departmental initiative to strengthen disadvantaged quarters, these buildings become a future home for the district museum Marzahn-Hellersdorf and its visitors.

The renovation measures are progressing with great steps. Both houses have already received a new roof structure with modern insulation to ensure long -term energy efficiency. Special air conditioning systems were installed to create an optimal environment for the planned permanent exhibition. Inside, monument -friendly wall containings were carried out, while drywall construction work prepares the rooms for the future exhibition areas. A planned elevator installation between the buildings will enable visitors to all levels of mobility to access barrier -free access.

The move of the district museum is planned for the end of 2025, and the employees are already working tirelessly on the moving planning and conception of new exhibitions. The progress of the construction project is a clear sign of the commitment of the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district and its employees for the promotion of education and regional history in the new cultural center.

Due to the emerging district museum on the cultural asset, new opportunities for encounter, learning and cultural participation open up for all residents and visitors of the community. It becomes a place to exchange knowledge and the cultural heritage, which strengthens and enriches the community's feeling of togetherness.
