Kita children plant trees in Biesdorf-Nord: nature conservation campaign with support
Last Thursday, April 18, 2024, the children of the Kita Sonne in Biesdorf-Nord took part in a special campaign, in which they planted three apple trees and a chestnut in front of the daycare center together with employees of the Lower Nature Conservation Authority. Equipped with a shovel and watering can, the children enthusiastically helped with the planting campaign and are now looking forward to a hopefully rich harvest in the coming years.
The support of the lower nature conservation authority was of great importance for this measure, since it contributed to the financing of the planting campaign with a sum of 1,900 euros from the compensation tax that is collected for approved tree felling elsewhere
The reforestation of trees in urban areas such as Biesdorf-Nord is of great importance for the environment and not only creates new habitats for animals, but also contributes to improving the urban climate. Through the active participation of the children in the planting campaign, environmental awareness is also promoted at a young age and the importance of nature conservation is conveyed.
In the table below, some facts about the planted trees and the financial support from the lower nature conservation authority are listed:
| Type of tree | Number | Total costs |
| ——————- | ——- | —————- |
| Apple tree | 3 | 1,425 euros |
| Dining chestnut | 1 | 475 euros |
This campaign in Biesdorf-Nord is only an example of the commitment of children and authorities in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development. It shows how small measures can make a positive contribution to the protection of the environment on site.
