according to a report by www.berlin.de Marzahn-Hellersdorf together with the State Association of German Sinti and Roma Berlin-Brandenburg e.V. on November 9, 2023 for a film screening followed by a conversation in Biesdorf Castle. The event takes place on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the November pogroms 1938.
The film entitled "Shadow of the Past-Loud Silence, Leisen Tell" was produced by the Memorial for the Berlin-Marzahn memorial in cooperation with the memory, responsibility and future ( EVZ ). He deals with the traumatic experiences of Sinti and Roma, which have survived the National Socialist persecution, as well as their continued traumatization in the following generations and the continued racist discrimination until the present.
The district mayor, Nadja Zivkovic, will open the event and there will be a discussion with Petra Rosenberg, the chairman of the Memorial for Forced Camp Berlin-Marzahn and the regional association of German Sinti & Roma Berlin-Brandenburg. For participation in the event, please register by email.
