Experience the magic of the cherry blossoms at Hanami - Asian culture up close!

This coming weekend, on April 13th and 14th, 2024, the traditional cherry blossom festival Hanami will take place in the beautiful ambience of the world's gardens. Visitors have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the Japanese, Chinese and Korean garden from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and to experience the beauty of Asian cultures.

artists from Japan, China and Korea will present traditional dances, music and stories. Among other things, the Berlin Korean Dance Project, Sakura Klub and Shamisen Berlin e.V. will appear. Furthermore, visitors can take part in various workshops, such as calligraphy, origami or subjects. For the sportier guests there is the opportunity to get to know and try out Japanese martial arts like Jodo, Kendo, Aikido or Ken-Jutsu.

A special highlight for younger visitors is the Furry Parade, in which costumed participants can pull through the park or have animal experiences in the “petting zoo”. In addition, the Cosplay competition and the K-Pop Dance competition will take place on Saturday, where fans can live out their passion for manga, anime and K-pop.

The complete program for the cherry blossom festival can be viewed on the world's website. Entry to the event is included in the park entry. Tickets can be purchased on site and cost 7 euros, reduced 3 euros.

For a special journey to the gardens of the world, the use of the Grün Berlin cable car is recommended. The cable car connects the Marzahn and Hellersdorf districts and offers a unique view of the site and the skyline of the capital. The Kienbergpark cable car station can be reached directly from Berlin Central Station in just 35 minutes. The cable car runs daily from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

A weekend full of cultural diversity and exciting activities awaits visitors at the cherry blossom festival in the idyllic ambience of the gardens of the world.
