Comic workshop for children in Marzahn-Hellersdorf on May 4, 2024

Since the end of 2023, the office Stadt + Handel has been working on behalf of the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district of Berlin on the establishment of the district area for participation. After the successful launch of the participation wheel on April 16, 2024, the room for participation Marzahn-Hellersdorf is now celebrating its second mobile commitment in the district. On Saturday, May 4, 2024, in addition to adults, children and adolescents will also find their space for participation at the Biesdorfer Flower Festival. With a fully equipped cargo bike, the room for participation Marzahn-Hellersdorf and the social area-oriented planning coordination (OE SPK) from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Biesdorf Schlosspark.

The room for participation offers a comic workshop for children from 7 years of age, which will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pictures, skits and comics on the subject of “Life in Marzahn-Hellersdorf” are designed together. The goal of the workshop is to promote the creative talents of the young participants and to invite them to artistically express their perspective on their place of residence.

The event will help to expand the opportunities for children and adolescents in the district and to strengthen their votes in relation to local decisions and developments. By getting the opportunity to express your thoughts and ideas creatively, the young participants are encouraged to actively participate in the design process of their living environment.

In addition to the workshop, visitors to the festival are encouraged to also participate in the room for participation and to share their thoughts, suggestions and visions for Marzahn-Hellersdorf. The district thus sets a sign of a participatory design of its social environment and shows that even the youngest residents can play an important role in changing their surroundings positively.
