Book reading and discussion with Olivier David on March 20 in Berlin
On Wednesday, March 20, 2024, a book reading and discussion with the author Olivier David will take place in the central library "Mark Twain". He will read out the topic from his autobiographical book "No promotion story. Why poverty makes you mentally ill" and then discuss the topic with the audience.
Olivier David, who grew up in Hamburg as the son of a single mother in Hamburg, has experienced a difficult childhood in poverty. The event, which takes place on the occasion of the "International Day of Single Parents", is organized by the start-up and coordination office for single Marzahn-Hellersdorf in cooperation with the coordination office for democracy development Marzahn-Hellersdorf and the central library "Mark Twain". Among other things, it is discussed why single parents in Germany have one of the highest poverty risks and what effects this can have on their mental health.
The event is public, admission is free. Pre -registration is desired, but not absolutely necessary. Childcare is also offered on site, for which prior registration is required.
