65th anniversary of the Tibetan Uprising: District Office Hisst Tibet flag

on Sunday, March 10, 2024, the Tibetan popular uprising marks the 65th time. On this occasion, the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district office joins the flag campaign of the "Tibet Initiative Germany". The organization has been commemorating this important event since 1996 and sends a sign against discrimination, persecution and displacement. The district office is running the flag of Tibet in front of the town hall on Alice-Salomon-Platz to show solidarity with the Tibetan people.

The Tibetan popular uprising from 1959 was an important historical event in Tibetan history. It was an uprising against Chinese rule in Tibet and led to violent clashes. Since then, the Tibetan population has suffered from the oppression and discrimination against the Chinese government.

In Marzahn-Hellersdorf, the Tibetan community is small, but still present. By hoisting the Tibetan flag in front of the town hall, her voice is heard and the solidarity of the community with them is shown. It is a symbol of protest against human rights violations and a sign of support for the Tibetan thing.

In the following table, some facts about Tibet are listed to give an insight into the country's situation:
