The young singer AÿA caused a stir with her new EP "Used". The four tracks on the album tell of AÿA's traumatic past and combine various musical influences to a unique genre, which she calls "Arabnb". AÿA, who does not deny their Yemeni and Moroccan roots, has already won a large fan base with their music, including many fans in the queer community.

aÿa has an eventful life story that started in Arad, in the Israeli desert. As a child, she suffered from asthma and moved to a dry climate with her mother and siblings to improve her health. There she also discovered her passion for the music and took part in singing competitions. At the age of 17, she joined the Israeli military, where she played in the music corps and appeared in front of soldiers and families whose places of residence were attacked. They shaped these experiences both positively and negatively and still influence their music.

By participating in a casting show on Israeli television, AÿA gained some awareness. But the success also had dark sides when she came into contact with a shady artist who abused her. As a result, she fled to Berlin to take a fresh start. Here she not only found friends, but also her artistic inspiration for her EP "Used", which was created in the Oote studio in Kreuzberg in the summer of 2022.

The songs on "Used" are characterized by AÿA's personal experiences and emotions. They tell of moments of pausing, enforcing their own limits and the desire to never have some experiences. AÿA sings with great intensity and strength and touches her listeners.

aÿas music is a mixture of R&B, oriental sounds and modern pop elements. She herself describes her genre as "Arabnb" and thus emphasizes the connection to her Arab origin. It is inspired by artists such as Usher and TLC, but also by the Egyptian singing icon om Kalsoum.

With her empowering music, AÿA has already won many fans who can identify with their history. She is particularly well received in the queer community, because she sees herself as a soul mate and allies of queer people who have experienced similar trauma.
