On October 10, 2023, the Lichtenberg citizens were awarded in Berlin-Lichtenberg: Interior Medal. The award has been awarded annually to committed citizens since 2004 who voluntarily work for the common good. The district office and the Lichtenberg volunteer council award the medal together. This year, twelve winners were honored who represent a wide range of volunteering.
District Mayor Martin Schaefer emphasized the importance of the volunteer in Lichtenberg. Every commitment enriches society and earns recognition. The award is a way to thank the award winners.
