Skating for everyone: Lichtenberg make new elements a skate paradise!

On Thursday, December 5, 2024, there was twice the reason to celebrate in Berlin-Lichtenberg! District City Councilor Filiz Küllüoğlu not only consecrated two new skate elements in Schulze-Boysen-Straße 38, but also the newly designed skate facility in Weißenseer Weg 100 was opened. These two projects illustrate the commitment of the Lichtenberg district to promote leisure activities and support the local skate community.

The new skate elements consisting of high-quality concrete curs should offer young people a place in public space. Keküllüoğlu emphasized how important the close cooperation between the street and green space office and the skate community was in order to implement the project quickly and efficiently. The total costs for these measures amount to around 13,540 euros and were financed from the daycare and playground renovation program. During the opening ceremony of the skate facility in Weißenseer Weg, which was made by the youth welfare institution K.U.L.T. and the Society for Sports and Youth Social Work (GSJ) is supervised, the city council praised the valuable ideas and contributions of the skaters: Interior, BMX drivers: Interior and other user groups, as was reported.
