The Lichtenberger animal protection award will be awarded for the first time this year. The Lichtenberg district office is looking for committed people, providers or projects that are committed to animal welfare in Lichtenberg. Suggestions for the award can be submitted by August 16, 2024.The district councilor for traffic, green spaces, order, environment and nature conservation, Filiz Küllüoğlu (Bündnis90/The Greens), expressed a positive statement about the introduction of this price and emphasized the importance of engagement for animal welfare in the region. A prize money of 1,000 euros is available for the winner, and the award ceremony is planned for October 3, 2024.
The Lichtenberger Animal Welfare Award recognizes the commitment that is particularly committed to the implementation of sustainable projects for promoting and compliance with animal welfare, animal rights and sensitization against cruelty to animals.
The jury for awarding the prize is made up of various representatives, including the district councilor, the climate protection officer of the district office, members of the responsible committee of the district council and the CEO of the Berlin animal welfare association.
