Lichtenberg invites you to intercultural week 2025: Be there!

Lichtenberg, Deutschland - The district office Lichtenberg invites all citizens to participate in the intercultural week (IKW) 2025, which under the motto "For this!" stands. The event takes place from September 21 to 28, 2025 and marks a special anniversary: ​​This year the IKW is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The focus is on promoting respect, participation and coexistence in diversity. With this motto, the IKW would like to set a strong sign against discrimination and intolerance and thus appreciate the cultural diversity in the district.

Especially in times when a right -wing populist mood can be felt at the national level, the intercultural week offers a lively and strong opposite pole. "FOR THAT!" stands for use for equality, promoting diversity as a motor of democracy and the reduction of prejudices. The IKW will thus be noted for a space for dialogue and encounter, which enables mutual understanding and joint fun, as interkulturewoche.de.

The district office's integration office provides project funding of up to 1,000 euros as part of the IKW. All institutions, associations, initiatives and individuals in the district are cordially invited to actively shape the program. We are looking for creative ideas such as workshops, exhibitions, readings, film screenings, rounds of talk or artistic performances. In order to take part in the funding, interested parties must submit a concept and a financing plan by June 23, 2025.
