Lichtenberg participates in Berlin's cultural summer 2024

The district of Lichtenberg will also take part in the Berlin -wide cultural summer in 2024, which is supported by the initiative "Exstant City" of the Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion. In this context, funding for projects of various artistic sectors are provided. Interested artists, project teams and sponsors have the opportunity to submit their project applications by April 22, 2024. Projects from the areas of music, visual and performance art, cultural education and literature that enable art and cultural experiences in public space are funded and promote the participation of all population groups.

The district of Lichtenberg has increased the funds from its own budget, so that a total of 91,000 euros are available for projects in the departments of art and culture, music school, museum and history as well as city library. The maximum funding amount is 10,000 euros per project. Applications must contain a concept as well as a cost and financial plan. In order to ensure an even distribution of art and cultural offers in the district, a list of priorities, places and green areas was created. The projects should be accessible to everyone and ideally be implemented between early summer and autumn.

To support the Lichtenberg cultural summer 2024, a marketing agency is used to integrate the diversity of the formats and offers of the district into a strategy. Project applications can be submitted by April 22, 2024 by e-mail to uraussenstadt@lichtenberg.berlin.de or by post to the Lichtenberg district office of Berlin. The "outside city" initiative started as an immediate assistance measure in 2020 to offer freelance artists during the pandemic. Since then, it has established itself as an outdoor cultural offer and continues to continue.
