The fire brigade's large -scale deployment: Inferno on Lichtenberger industrial park!

In the night of Monday, December 2, 2024, there were dramatic fire brigade operations in Berlin, which presented the emergency services with great challenges. At the same time, a total of seventeen trucks burned in two different industrial areas. There were eight gnking on the Gehrenseestrasse in the Lichtenberg district, while nine other vehicles burned on the pyramid ring between Lichtenberg and Marzahn-Hellersdorf, such as rbb24 reported.

The fire brigade was quickly on hand, but the water supply turned out to be difficult at both locations. For example, long hose lines had to be laid and tank fire vehicles had to be used to extinguish the fires. A total of over 100 firefighters were on duty to tame the flames that could only be brought under control in the early morning. Fortunately, there were no injuries, but a specialist commissioner from the criminal police will now determine the causes of fire. The fire brigade was also employed by the neighboring concrete manufacturer Cemex, location Lichtenberg, and the situation was further observed how T-Online reported.

cause of fire in clarification

The exact reason for the fires has so far been unclear and the investigation has started. In the past, Cemex had already become the victim of an arson attack in 2023, to which a radical environmental group confessed. Whether there is a connection between the previous incidents and the current fires is now also being examined. The fire brigade found that both fire sites were only about three and a half kilometers apart, which also made the investigation interesting. The incident has attracted attention to both the police and the fire brigade and leads to speculation about possible causes.
