Photo exhibition reveals challenges of people without reading and writing knowledge
Next Thursday, September 12, 2024, art lovers in Alt-Hohenschönhausen can look forward to a special highlight. From 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. the vernissage for the photo exhibition "is there!" in the meeting room Benn Alt-Hohenschönhausen in Wartenberger Str. 24, 13053 Berlin.
The exhibition presents impressive photographs by the artist Jesús Cabrera Hernández. These photographs impressively show how people who have difficulty reading and writing are confronted with texts every day. This makes their participation more difficult in many life situations. The motto "stands there" may appear as a relaxed answer to orientation questions, but the exhibition illustrates how much it drives people with reading and writing difficulties.
The opening of the exhibition is carried out by the coordinator of the Alpha alliance Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. Afterwards there is the opportunity to exchange ideas with those affected.
The photo exhibition "Is there!" is accessible from September 12 to November 30, 2024 in the Benn Alt-Hohenschönhausen meeting room. Further information is available at this link
The event is made by the Alpha alliance Friedrichshain - Kreuzberg in cooperation with AOB e.V. and the MGH Gneisenaustr. e.V. organized and carried out by the Benn Alt-Hohenschönhausen district with the support of the Senate Department for Urban Development, Building and Living as well as the Lichtenberg district office, OE social space-oriented planning coordination.
