strengthen community spirit: The "Festival of Diversity" in Neu-Hohenschönhausen

On 14. September 2024 , from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., the marketplace behind the Linden Center in Berlin-Neu-Hohenschönhausen becomes the scene of the popular "Festival of Diversity". This annual event is not only a celebration, but also an important meeting point for the community that brings together the neighborhood and promotes local exchange.

The preparations for the festival are under the motto "grow together" and help to strengthen the community spirit. District Mayor Martin Schaefer (CDU) has already announced his participation and will be personally on site at 5 p.m. to celebrate with the citizens. He emphasizes how important it is that the residents get to know each other and make contacts: "Common experiences like this work for this."

The festival takes place as part of the anniversary celebrations "40 years of Neu-Hohenschönhausen" and offers a variety of attractions for families. Visitors can look forward to live music from bands like Clash Clash Bang Bang, Boxi Barré and Rasuli, who accompany the festival musically. The physical well -being is also taken care of: there is coffee, cake, popcorn and a grill stand.

Another highlight of the festival is the numerous activities offered for children and families, including mobile children's spaces, a hands -on circus and workshops for break dance. Children can let off steam creatively in face painting or the action painting, while giant soap bubbles, a giant kicker and other games provide additional fun.

Behind the festival there are committed initiatives of local neighborhood work, supported by the Albus e.V. association and other partners. The funding is carried out by the “Strengthening of Berlin's major settlements” program to increase the quality of life in the district. Information about the festival and the detailed program can be found on the websites and social media of the city square in Neu-Hohenschönhausen.

The “Festival of Diversity” is not just an event, but an expression of cohesion and cooperation within the community. It offers a platform on which many voices and talents find a stage and contributes to celebrating the variety of cultures and creativity in the district.
