The renovation of the western road of the Treskowallee in Lichtenberg continues from April 15, 2024 after the Berlin water operations have carried out extensive renovation work on drinking water pipes. The construction site had been set up since mid -September 2022 to prepare the management work of the Berlin water operations. Due to delays during the construction of the Berlin water operations, there was a long loss of time. In addition, it was found in the summer of 2023 that a groundwater lowering was required, which led to further delays.

The roadway renovation will now begin immediately after the work of the Berlin water operations. Noise -optimized asphalt should be applied to minimize traffic noise for the residents. The entire measure is expected to be completed in the second half of 2024.

It is important to note that such infrastructural projects can often bring unforeseen challenges that lead to delays. This can not only extend the planned construction time, but also cause additional costs. In this case, the water pipes and sewer could not be found as expected, which led to rescheduling and loss of time. The required groundwater lowering also proved to be time and approval-intensive.
