Tell me a picture: Photography project with Ukrainian young people in the town hall of Lichtenberg
The artist Masha Pryven opens the exhibition "Tell me a picture" on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at 6 p.m. in the Lichtenberg town hall in Berlin. The exhibition presents the results of a photography project that the Ukrainian-German artist carried out in 2022 with Ukrainian young people in the Lichtenberg district. The students of the Lichtenberger Immanuel-Kant-Gymnasium have creatively processed their experiences of flight and new beginning in Berlin as part of the project. By designing their own alphabet by reinterpreting and implementing the German letters and implementing them in photographs, the young people were able to reflect on their new life situation.
The exhibition is opened by district mayor Martin Schaefer, who will speak some introductory words. Afterwards, Zhanna Kramer, coordinator for the community work at the integration officer of the Lichtenberg district office, will report on the support of the Ukrainian refugees in the district. The exhibition "Tell me a picture" can be viewed in the town hall corridors on the first and second floor until August 2, 2024.
