Insight into the future: Day of the open construction site with Berlin waterworks on August 3, 2024

Day of the open construction site in Landsberger Allee

Next Saturday, August 3, 2024, the Berlin Water Operations (BWB) together with the executing companies open their construction site at Landsberger Allee in order to give interested citizens an insight into the trenchless pipe renovation. The technically impressive process of moving in a 430-meter-long wastewater pressure line pipe strand in the close-fit process is demonstrated live on site.

The event begins at 10 a.m. and lasts until 4 p.m. Lichtenberg's district councilor Filiz Keküllüoğlu from Bündnis 90/The Greens will be present to answer questions and have discussions. It emphasizes the importance of this milestone for the construction project in Landsberger Allee.

Since April this year, several drinking water and wastewater pipes have been exchanged by the Berlin water companies in Landsberger Allee. The construction area extends over two kilometers from Vulkanstraße to the S-Bahnhof Landsberger Allee. In addition to the BWB, the companies Strabag and Pfaffinger also present themselves on the site and are available for questions.

During the open construction site day, visitors have the opportunity to experience the innovative trenchless construction first -hand and to understand how the work is expected to continue until 2026. Graphics for traffic routing during the construction phases can be called up online at www.bwb.de/baStellen.

A special highlight for younger visitors is the "blue classroom", in which you can playfully test your knowledge of water and carry out exciting experiments. The event thus offers a unique opportunity to vividly experience the importance of drinking water and sewage pipes for the supply of the city.
