Berlin: Citizens shape public space at the day of good life

The district office invites the residents of Lichtenberg to participate in the “Day of Good Life” campaign. The initiative, which deals with the topics of sustainability, environmental awareness and protection, is implemented for the first time in all Berlin districts. The projects are intended to help shape the public space and enable common activities without being sold or bought.

The district councilor for traffic, green spaces, order, environment and nature conservation, Filiz Küllüoğlu, is enthusiastic about the idea: "It enables the Lichtenberger: inside, to help shape your neighborhood and to decide what should happen with the public space."

interested parties can submit their project ideas to the Berlin 21 e.V. association, which supports the selection and implementation. Possible activities range from workshops on the subject of climate change to street parties to strengthen the neighborhood. Previous actions such as the butter festival have already found positive response.

Citizens who want to get involved can find out and contact the website www.tagdesgutenlebens.berlin. The campaign offers an opportunity to strengthen the local community and to realize sustainable projects together.
