Landsberger Allee construction measure: 63 trees on February 10th
In connection with extensive construction measures by the Berlin water operations, a total of 63 trees on the median of Landsberger Allee between Vulkanstraße and Storkower Straße will be felled on Saturday, February 10, 2024. From April 2024 to the end of 2029, the Berlin water operations will exchange drinking water and wastewater pipes along Landsberger Allee. The construction area extends over a length of about two kilometers between the Vulkanstrasse intersection and the Landsberger Allee S-Bahn station. In order to maintain the flow of traffic on the important magistle despite the necessary construction pits, traffic is temporarily led over the median. "63 trees have to be felled there for which replants are planted after completing the work," said the Berlin water operations.
The planned construction work will thus have a major impact on Landsberger Allee and the surrounding residential and business areas, since traffic will be impaired for a longer period of time. The measure represents an important infrastructure renovation, which is intended to improve and modernize water and waste water supply in this area. However, the planned completion at the end of 2029 also means that residents and commuters have to adjust to longer construction phases and traffic disruptions.
The history of Landsberger Allee goes back to the 19th century when it served as an important transport connection from Berlin to Landsberg.
