95,000 euros in funding for queer projects in the Lichtenberg district

In a significant step towards promoting diversity and inclusion within the community, the Senate of the Lichtenberg district provides a sum of 95,000 euros for queer projects and events. The deadline for interested clubs, institutions and volunteers to submit their ideas ends on 15. September 2024 . The projects should be 10 at the latest. December 2024 .
This funding measure aims to improve the quality of life for members of the LSBTIQ+community, especially in sub-supplied districts. This includes the expansion of meeting points and advisory services that are specifically geared towards the needs of this group. Not only new initiatives are required, but also an increase in existing projects that work in the outskirts of the district.
A central aspect of this initiative is the support of an intersectional approach. This means that projects that take different dimensions of discrimination are particularly promoted. This includes, among other things, programs for youth work, initiatives for older members of the LSBTIQ+community and empowerment projects for Queere People of Color, Sinti and Roma as well as people with disabilities.
