2. Queere Action Week in Lichtenberg against homo-, bi-, inter- and transthobia

The 2nd queer action week will be held in the Lichtenberg district from June 21 to 30, 2024 to set an example against homo, bi-, inter- and transthobia. The traditional CSD campaign day on June 28th is accompanied by a variety of offers for the Queere community, families and interested parties. District Mayor Martin Schaefer thanks everyone involved and emphasizes the importance of respect and tolerance in the district.

The action week begins on June 21 at 10 a.m. with the rainbow flag on the town hall of Lichtenberg. As part of the week, the AG Queer invites you to the Pink Day with free zoo tour on June 23. There are also queer cinema nights, a stage play for children and adolescents in the theater on the Parkaue, as well as queer neighborhood cafes, family and youth counseling, chess evenings with drag queens and much more. The full program is available as a flyer and available online.

The background of the CSD is located on the Christopher Street Day on June 28, 1969 when Queere African American and Latin American in New York protested against police will. The CSD in Berlin has been reminiscent of this event since 1979, and topic -related events have also been carried out in Lichtenberg for several years.

Further information on the Queeren Action Week is available from the Lichtenberger Diversity and Queer Representative on the phone number (030) 90296-3524 or by email to sabine.poehl@lichtenberg.berlin.de
