Lichtenberg calls for application for EUR 1.2 million for social projects!
Today, the Lichtenberg district calls on all interested porters to submit applications for development projects as part of the funding instrument "Local-Social Innovative (LSI)". This was announced in a current press release . The aim of the LSI program is to combat poverty, exclusion and disadvantage. It is supported by the Investment Bank Berlin (IBB) and the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+).
The funding amounts to up to 1.2 million euros, with 480,000 euros from the ESF+ and 720,000 euros from state funds. Funded projects can receive up to 50,000 euros and should not exceed a maximum term of six months. The earliest possible start of project is November 1, 2025.
Focus of the project applications
The application runs until July 31, 2025 and is intended to focus on several main topics. These include:

The procedure for application is based on two stages, as described by the ibb . In the first stage, project proposals are submitted, followed by the district administration.
In the second stage, a formal application process is carried out via the IBB customer portal. The responsible bodies are examined. The basis for decision -making are given evaluation matrixes that the IBB provides. A successful application requires the proof of overall financing and, if necessary, a draft of the cooperation agreement in the event of merging several partners.
It is important that the application must be made before the project begins, otherwise funding is not possible.
The European Social Fund Plus (ESF+)
The ESF+ promotes social integration and innovation programs throughout the EU. According to the Ordinance (EU) 2021/1057 aims at the creation of social justice, to support fair employment opportunities and a high level of employment. Specific goals such as improving access to employment and combating material deprivation should also be addressed.
In total, over 87 billion euros are available for the various programs of the ESF+ in the period from 2021 to 2027. The fund thus makes a valuable contribution to promoting social development and integration in Europe.
