Reading with Anne Stern: Discover Lisa's moving self-discovery!

On October 9, 2025, a reading with the Berlin author Anne Stern will take place in the Altglienicke district library. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and entry is free. Stern will present her new novel “When the Days Get Longer,” which was published in March 2025 in the advanced literature program. This reading is part of the “KuBIST” (Culture and Libraries in the District) program, which is supported by the European Regional Development Fund. Visitors are warmly invited to find out more about the protagonist Lisa.

Lisa is a single music teacher who questions her identity as a woman without the role of mother in her first summer without her son. As the story progresses, she meets the fruit farmer Ute, who helps her redefine herself. In addition to exploring her role as a mother, the novel also deals with Lisa's search for a restorer for her violin and the challenges of dealing with family secrets. Stern's work thus illuminates themes of self-discovery and identity in times of change.
