commemoration of an eventful life: Zenzl tedious

The life of Crescency (Zenzl) Elfinger, later known as Zenzl, was troubled by the extreme events of the 20th century. As an active colleague and wife of the publicist Erich, she struggled for the values and ideals that were important to her. But her story took tragic twists, which they shaped until the end of their lives.

a moving struggle for dignity and freedom

After the cruel fate of her husband, who was murdered in the Oranienburg concentration camp, Zenzl continued to fight her fight. She fought not only for an appropriate funeral for Erich Mühsam, but also for her own freedom. Despite warnings, she fled to the Soviet Union via Prague, just to get into the turmoil of the Stalinist "cleansing". She spent decades in custody, warehouse and exile before she finally found refuge in the GDR.
