Lang Covid: Potsdamer fights with setbacks and fatigue - hope for new therapy
Title: Potsdamer Gina Konarski fights bravely against Long Covid
subtitle: After two covid infections, Gina Konarski suffered seriously on Long Covid and now has to live with me/CFS. Despite many setbacks, she does not give up hope and prepares for changes.
Potsdam - Gina Konarski (22) from Potsdam has been struggling with the effects of Long Covid since last year. After two Covid infections, their condition improved, but recently their symptoms increased again. Gina suffers from the chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), which often occurs after a viral infection.
The Potsdamer started rehabilitation treatment in June to relieve her symptoms. However, it turned out that the therapy was too strenuous for them. Gina got a high fever and developed flu symptoms. It was urgently advised to avoid crashs, since her condition could deteriorate even further.
Gina found that her symptoms are getting worse. She now has a wheelchair and is no longer able to walk with a rollator. She darkens her apartment more and more because her sensitivity to light is creating.
gina is measurable: your blood still shows a high concentration of the spike protein, which may be a consequence of the covid vaccination. Doctors explain that after vaccination with an RNA vaccine, the body produces part of the virus and develops an immune response on it. In the case of a young immune system, however, the body could not reduce the vaccine or maybe change so that it cannot be broken down.
The health insurance companies do not cover any costs for blood linen and other treatments related to Long Covid, Post Covid and Post VAC. Therefore, Gina's family collects donations for therapy via the online platform Gofundme.com. Every donation, no matter how small, helps Gina and gives hope of returning to a normal life.
Gina had hoped to be able to take part in an Apherese study in the Charité to improve their symptoms. Unfortunately, your condition is too bad for that. Another study in which the drug BC 007 is tested also resigned because Gina suffered from asthma in the past and had passed too much time since her infection.
Despite all the setbacks, Gina does not give up hope. In September she will move to a new apartment that is better suited for her needs. She is looking forward to the change and to finally have more freedom of movement. Gina is ready to adapt her life and to look ahead positively. From now on she hopes that she will only go uphill.
