Citizens' money shorts: Job center in the crisis! So we can help!

Berlin - The drama for the citizens' money picks up speed! The traffic light coalition has released the budget for 2025 and they throw dark shadows on the support for the unemployed. A gigantic reduction of a whopping 4.7 billion euros is on the program, and this ensures alarm mood in the field of social funding!

Instead of the originally planned 29.7 billion euros for the citizens' allowance, only 25 billion euros are now to flow. A decline that not only teaches affected people, but also provides critical voices from the Federal Network for Labor and Social Participation. "Structural damage," warn the experts!

cuts in job centers put a blow into the integration of unemployed

And that's not all: the job centers also have to worry about their means. The budget for integration into the world of work is reduced from 4.15 billion to 3.7 billion euros. A bitter blow for measures that people should attribute to the labor market! "Important programs for labor market integration are greatly reduced," complains the network and demands immediate measures against the impending cuts.

"The planned cuts in the 2025 budget endanger the future," said the sobering statement by the network. The previous financial resources, which were criticized as "inadequate" in 2024, have already "left structural damage in employment promotion". Many job centers now have to face the bitter reality: Next year there are hardly any opportunities for publicly funded employment.

devastating decline in funding - what now?

The numbers are alarming! The decline in sponsors for long -term unemployed in citizenship is drastic. Of the around 10,000 employer grants provided, there are now only 4,737, and for citizens' money recipients who have been looking for a job for a long time, the numbers from a maximum of 43,000 in 2021 in only 34,000 in Mars 2024.

The network warns: "Every euro that will be invested here saves the state in the future." Savings could not only trigger hopelessness, but also further tighten the social problems in the country. It is a call for action for the members of the Bundestag: the job market urgently needs more support!

and while the political debate about the amount of the citizens' benefit - especially through the adaptation of the control rates to inflation - could be the actual focus elsewhere: a better equipped job center could be the key to give many people a perspective future.
