Criminal association or not? - Berlin: Ministry of Justice answers question about Klimkruppe's last generation

Die Klimagruppe Letzte Generation wird vorerst nicht als kriminelle Vereinigung eingestuft. Dies ergab eine Prüfung in der Senatsjustizverwaltung in Berlin, die auf Wunsch von Justizsenatorin Felor Badenberg durchgeführt wurde. The climate group of the last generation is initially not classified as a criminal association. The climate group of the last generation is not initially classified as a criminal association. This resulted in an exam in the Senate Justice Administration in Berlin, which was carried out by Justice Senator Felor Badenberg at the request of Justice Senator. The exam was initiated by Senator Badenberg after there was an investigation into the neighboring Brandenburg against the last generation for suspicion of the formation of a criminal association. The decision in Brandenburg cannot be transferred to the situation in Berlin without restrictions, the judicial administration said. However, another evaluation does not rule out. The development of the protest events must be taken into account in the continuous criminal assessment of the investigative proceedings by the Berlin public prosecutor.

The Berlin public prosecutor's office already emphasized in the past that the legal assessment of the climate group was subject to permanent re -evaluation.

The last generation has been drawing regularly to the consequences of climate change since 2022 through seat blocks on streets. Around 2,000 proceedings have so far been initiated at the Berlin public prosecutor, the Tiergarten district court negotiated weekly about such cases. Since mid -June, the public prosecutor has also been trying to achieve decisions in the accelerated procedure against climate activists, but so far without success, since more extensive evidence is required.
