The New Year's Eve preparations are already causing excitement in Berlin: the sale of firecrackers has started and the first incidents are increasing. In the districts of Kreuzberg and Schöneberg, there were massive attacks on passers -by and drivers who were thrown at rockets and firecrackers. The police were on the Pallassstrasse on Saturday evening because, as in previous years, civil war -like conditions threatened to attack both police officers and emergency services. Particularly explosive: The area is one of the so-called firecrackers' ban zones that come into force from December 31 at 6 p.m.

The police reacted to the early sales and increased the security measures. A total of 239 radio cars are on the move, and more than 1000 officials are ready to monitor possible violations. As part of these controls, several illegal fireworks have already been ensured. In one case, a man had to expect criminal proceedings for violating the weapons law. The measures are intended to ensure that there is no dangerous situations on New Year's Eve itself, because the period in which firecrackers are allowed is limited to New Year's Eve from 6 p.m. to New Year. Anyone who violates this rule must expect up to 10,000 euros.
