Fuel prices in January 2024: Stable compared to the previous month - multi -tank evaluation

January 2024 was largely stable for German fuel prices. Despite the increase in the CO2 tax, prices on the comparison platform "multi-tank" rose only slightly. The average price for Super E5 was 1.787 euros per liter, for Super E10 at 1.728 euros per liter and for diesel at 1.706 euros per liter.

Although the month of the month was stable, there were large price fluctuations within a day. On January 17, the deviations between 12 cents for Super E5 and E10 and 13 cents were for diesel. Were the cheapest brands while Aral, Shell and Gulf were among the most expensive. The choice of the petrol station brand can mean on average a saving of up to 7 cents per liter.
