care degrees at a glance

The topic of the level of care is of increasing importance, since the need for care can develop gradually and suddenly occur through accident or acute illness. Nursing needs are determined by a level of care that is divided into five stages. This classification is based on a comprehensive questionnaire that covers six areas of life, and now also takes into account psychological restrictions, which represents an improvement compared to the previously existing care levels. Here are the level of care in detail:

care degree description
1 low impairments (12.5 to less than 27 points)
2 Significant impairments (27 to less than 47.5 points)
3 serious impairments (47.5 to less than 70 points)
4 The most serious impairments (70 to less than 90 points)
5 The most serious impairments with special requirements (90 to 100 points)

people with an exceptionally high need for help can also be classified in care degrees 5 without the full score. The application for a care degree is submitted to the responsible care fund, followed by an assessment by independent experts who check the need for care based on defined criteria.

numbers and statistics on those in need of care

Current statistics show that over 4 million people in Germany are in need of care, with 80% being cared for in their own domesticity. Comprehensive and reliable data on domestic care are essential for the planning and further development of the Social Code XI (SGB XI), and they help to optimize the nursing care structure. These surveys concern all people in need of care who received care benefits on December 31 and serve as a basis for decision -making for authorities.

The demand for transparent and effective care supply is also a topic at the event on July 3. Here, the participants can not only collect information about the care levels, but also to the rights and claims that those in need of care are entitled to. Nursing aids or individual care plans in particular can be important for many to promote their self -determination and quality of life.
