Cosmic spectacle on the Orankesee: Lake Festival 2024 attracts with space objects and lots of music

On Saturday, September 7, 2024, this year's Lake Festival of the Obersee & Orankesee e.V. Under the patronage of district mayor Martin Schaefer (CDU), the festival promises to become a cosmic spectacle for the whole family.

This year's Lake Festival on the Orankesee promises an unforgettable experience full of music, games, sport and fun. Visitors can look forward to huge space objects, trapezoidal art on an aircraft and an enchanting performance of "Major Tom". Admission is free for children up to twelve years, while adult tickets can buy in advance for 6 euros and at the box office for 8 euros.

District Mayor Martin Schaefer emphasizes the importance of the Orankesee lido as one of the most beautiful places on the water in the district. The lake festival has developed into a highlight in the Lichtenberg event calendar and will welcome guests from the partner cities of Jurbakas in Lithuania and Maputo in Mozambique this year. The support association Obersee & Orankesee e.V., which organizes the festival on a voluntary basis with around 80 volunteers, also receives support from various local partners and the Lichtenberg district office.

The chairman of the association, Björn Döring, emphasizes the importance of the joint exchange and voluntary work for strengthening culture, nature and neighborhood. The lake festival offers a diverse program for all age groups, from music from different genres to artistics, dance performances and sports activities. The children in particular can look forward to exciting workshops and show performances.

Visitors to the festival can take part in a neighborhood, admire puppet artists, take part in a raffle and be enchanted by various musical performances. The crowning glory is the Berlin premiere of the new show "The Planets" of the V.O.S.A. Theater from Prague, accompanied by the band "Composer district" with songs around the universe.

The Lake Festival on the Orankesee is supported by funds from the district cultural promotion and funded by numerous partners. A visit to this unique event promises an unforgettable and magical day for the whole family.
