Coming ice skating season: Open almost all Berlin ice stadiums!

ice -cold news for Berlin! The anticipation for the winter season is just around the corner, because almost all ice rinks in the capital are opened-with one exception: the Erika-Heß ice stadium is expected to be closed. According to the Senate Department for Interior and Sport, the renovation work in the Neuköllner Eisstadion, the last winter, is closed, and the Horst-Dohm-Ice Stadium in Wilmersdorf is also affected-here the opening is delayed due to the weather, but an opening in November 2024 is sought.

The ice sports halls in the Berlin Sportforum and Paul-Heyse-Straße sports complex will start on schedule. The private ice stadium Lankwitz in Steglitz is also ready for ice sports fans. But what happens to the Erika-Heß ice stadium? Important questions remain open here, since static problems with the roof could now endanger an opening this season. The district office is considering making the outdoor area accessible to clubs and the public. It is only to be hoped that the ice skating season in Berlin will be a complete success!
