On September 25, 2025, the reopening of the Wildenbruchstrasse daycare center took place in the Harzer Straße district management area. The daycare center, an own company of the state of Berlin, offers space for 160 children and represents an important meeting place for families with different cultural and socio -economic backgrounds. Sarah Nagel, district councilor for youth, and Jochen Biedermann, district councilor for urban development, environment and transport, were present. The daycare center was extensively redesigned, with the focus on child-friendly renewal and additions to the equipment. The improvements include new retreat areas and more opportunities for exercise. Particularly noteworthy are the new exercise and nature areas, which emphasize the daycare center's profile in nature and environmental education. A small snail is discovered that was previously “glued” to a spot, and while examining the site, a large caterpillar is discovered. The numerous other creatures such as a family of worms, a beetle with a bent leg and a millipede are also exciting for the children. This concept reflects the importance of nature experiences for child development.
