Frankfurt am Main-KfW Capital, the subsidiary of the KfW Bankengruppe, gave the first promise of 6.5 million euros from the emergency manager facility of the future fund to the Climate-DEEP Tech Fund Nucleus Capital. Emerging Manager Facility supports young and diverse VC fund teams who often have difficulty raising capital. With the investment in Nucleus Capital, a clear signal is set that different backgrounds and innovation technology competencies in the start-up scene have a high level of relevance.

nucleus Capital, a fund based in Berlin under the direction of Dr. Isabella Fandrych and Maximilian Schwarz, invested in start-ups and innovative technology companies in the area of "Programmable Biology", "Food Technology" and "Green Industrials". The fund completed its first closing with a volume of 10.4 million euros in March 2024 and is aiming for a target volume of 40 million euros by the end of 2024.

The emerging manager facility is a component of the federal future fund and is aimed at young, often smaller VC funds, which are led by women's teams or diverse teams.
