Kantstraße in danger: Fire protection problem wiggles apartments!
The bike path on Kantstraße in Berlin-Charlottenburg causes excitement-and possibly leaving numerous apartments! The reason is serious fire protection problems that are currently in focus. A spokeswoman for the Senate Department for Transport announced that the district and fire brigade are looking for solutions: "We respect both a safe bike path and the needs of the fire brigade." A letter to the district should still be sent today.
The cycle path, which was created four years ago as a provisional pop-up cycle path, is too narrow for fire brigade. Due to the narrow space, the firefighters could not get to the upper floors of certain residential buildings, which means serious security risks. The Charlottenburg district councilor Christoph Brzezinski (CDU) warned of "successive use of uses" for affected residential units. Although it is optimistic to find a solution, the tenants must expect possible evacuation if no agreement is reached by November.
The Situation remains tense and many are wondering: How endangered are the apartments really? The answer is still pending! For more information, visit the complete reports on www.rbb-online.de .
