Jordan shoots Iranian drones - also with fighter jets from Israel -neighborland

Jordan also participated in the defense against Iranian drones on Sunday night by using fighter jets. According to media reports, Jordan managed to intercept dozens of drones near the Iraqi-Syrian border. These drones obviously had Jerusalem as the goal. The Jordan government confirmed the incident and announced that the drones shot down had entered the Jordanian airspace.

Despite Iran's warnings, Jordan continued his measures before interfering with the conflict. It was announced that drones would be shot down as soon as they violate airspace. For security reasons and due to the escalating risks in the region, the airspace of Jordan was temporarily closed and opened again after ten hours.

The approach of Jordan is particularly remarkable, since it stands as an Arab country not only against Iran, but also against neighboring Arab countries such as Syria. The "Jerusalem Post" praised Jordan's measures that underline the transformation from an enemy to an ally. Before the peace treaty with Israel in 1995, Jordan was even a military opponent of Israel for decades.
