Jordan helps - Iranian drones shot down

In the night of Sunday, Jordan also participated in the defense against Iranian drones who were traveling towards Jerusalem. According to media reports, Jordanian fighter jets successfully intercept dozens of Iranian drones near the border between Iraq and Syria. The Jordan Government confirmed the incident and stated that the shot drones had entered Jordan Airspace, but did not cause any injuries or major damage.

Despite the successful intervention of Jordan, the country was warned by Iran not to interfere with the conflict, as it could otherwise be the goal. Jordan had already announced that Jordan had to shoot every drone that would violate airspace. As a precaution, the Jordanian airspace was temporarily closed on Saturday evening and only released after ten hours due to the increasing risks in the region.

The reaction of Jordan is particularly noteworthy, since it stands as an Arab country not only against Iran, but also against neighboring Arab countries such as Syria. The "Jerusalem Post" praised the actions of Jordan because it emphasized the transformation from an enemy to an ally. For a long time, Jordan was a military opponent of Israel before the peace treaty with Israel in 1995. This rare alliance against Iranian aggression illustrates the complex political relationships in the region.
