Is Germany no longer worth a trip? The new edition of the travel guide Lonely Planet lets Berlin citizens doubt.

Germany and especially Berlin in the latest edition of the "Lonely Planet" travel guide received no recommendation as travel destinations for 2024. Instead, travelers will be asked to travel to Mostar, Jakarta or Prague next year. This is surprising, since German cities such as Dresden, Freiburg, Bonn and Hamburg were rated positively in previous editions. Berlin is often visited by tourists as the capital of Germany and has a variety of sights and cultural offers.

This year's edition of the "Best In Travel" travel guide from Lonely Planet has named Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, the best city. Paris took second place because it is constantly being reinvented and in 2024 the Olympic and Paralympic Summer Games will host. In the countries, Mongolia leads the list and offers a lot of width, adventure and culture.

It is interesting to see that night trains also experience a renaissance in this travel guide. This could indicate that travelers are increasingly reducing CO2 emissions and wanting to travel the world in a sustainable way. In addition to cities and countries, means of transport such as night trains in Europe are also listed as a travel value.

Finally, it can be said that the Lonely Planet travel guide does not highlight Germany and Berlin this year as a top travel destinations, but this does not mean that there are no interesting sights and activities on site. Every traveler has different preferences and priorities, and Berlin offers a unique mix of culture, history and entertainment that appeals to visitors.
