In 2025, a catastrophic budget draft could finally strike the door for language skills that are essential for daily life and the start of the profession for 180,000 people!
Currently the money is only enough to end the courses that started this year. New offers are in acute danger! This is not only an educational misery, but also a huge setback for integration.

The adult education centers raise the alarm and mobilize resistance! In Freising and Moosburg, representatives of the adult education centers demand politics to campaign for the integration courses. In a panel discussion, they presented an input to the SPD, Greens and CSU members of the Bundestag. The Offenburg Volkshochschule also had none other than Thorsten Frei of the CDU/CSU in the house to convince him of the need for the courses!
In Winnenden, politicians from Greens, FDP and CDU made a local appointment, and VHS director Andreas Frankenhauser warned urgently: "Anyone who saves education now will have a multiple higher follow-up costs in the future!" These words have weight, especially in times of shortage of skilled workers!
The head of the VHS Nordwestmecklenburg, Jörg Ehresmann, has already asked his MP Frank Junge for help. 115 participants successfully completed their integration course this year - what if the money is not enough?

A dramatic look at the numbers: In order to properly carry out the integration and professional language courses in 2025, those responsible needed at least 1.7 billion euros. However, only 810 million are planned in the budget draft. Members of the budget committee were stunned that the solution to this problem ends up on the Bundestag table - a responsible policy looks different!
Martin Rabanus, chairman of the German Volkshochschul Association and MP, asks the ministers to act immediately. "The coalition must stand in our society to integrate immigrants!" Said Rabanus. If the entry into the language courses is kidnapped, threatening enormous economic damage.
An interruption of the courses could put the proven integration model in danger! More than 10,000 teachers at adult education centers would be without new contracts. A massive loss of qualified specialists is imminent, which are indispensable for linguistic integration. Once suspended, it becomes difficult to put this essential education area back on the feet!
