Initiative against the flood of garbage: residents fight against misused power box in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg

In Berlin Prenzlauer Berg, an unusual use for a power box was discovered: the residents use it as a parking space for old glass. A resident has now taken the initiative to act against the garbage flood.

The power box on Schwedter Straße in the otherwise very well -kept Prenzlauer Berg is still used by the Berliners as a storage area for empties. Despite the removal of the glass containers near the wall park, the thirsty in the area do not seem to be stopped from parking their old glass there. This creates a dazzling total work of art made of green, brown and white bottles that gives the street scene a special note.

In a picture published on the Instagram channel "Notes of Berlin", the flood of bottles can be seen. The channel commented on a wink: "A few glasses too much". A annoyed resident then reached the pen and scissors to attach a sign. You can read on the bright-orange poster: "Dear neighbors and fellow human beings. Stop: There is no space for garbage! This is not a glass container or garbage park. The glass containers were permanently deducted from the location". In addition, the locations of the next glass containers are noted on the poster.

The art historical perspective is also considered: the angry resident makes it clear that it is not art and the garbage should be removed. It remains to be seen whether the use of the anonymous artist will be successful. The fact is, however, that the order and law on the law of Berliners cannot yet keep up with those of the southern parts of the country.

It remains to be hoped that the residents' initiative will help to ensure that the power box will be brought back to its actual purpose and the roads of Prenzlauer Berg will remain well -maintained as before.
