secure the success at your own location in the long term: IAS seminar discusses future strategies for individual acousticians

The hearing acoustic industry is in a continuous change. The success of specialist shops is no longer guaranteed today, despite good sales. With regard to this, the IAS seminar discussed possible future strategies for individual acousticians in Hamburg in June. The seminar offered the participants a lively event with many impulses, practical knowledge and plenty of opportunity to exchange collegial exchange.

The hearing acoustics market grows steadily and is changing rapidly. With the increasing number of young customers, the number of providers also increases. Between 2019 and 2023, around 500 new specialist shops were opened in Germany, so that there are now 7,200 instead of which 6,700 shops so far. These changes have far -reaching effects. A few years ago, a hearing acoustic business needed a catchment area of 20,000 to 25,000 inhabitants for success, while around 10,000 inhabitants are already sufficient today. Accordingly, central locations in city centers or the proximity to ear doctor practices lose importance. Instead, a frequently decentralized offer is becoming more important for the largest possible number of potential customers. This presents companies that have positioned themselves in the formerly contested inner city locations for new challenges.

Jürgen Berken and Tannassia Reuber, the managing partners of the individual acoustician service, emphasized that the trend towards expansion, branching and new establishment will last in the coming years. It is therefore of great importance for owner -managed specialty shops to keep an eye on the market development at your own location and to ensure your own position strategically and foresight. Which measures are necessary for this depends on a variety of individual factors. However, the general challenges are the same for everyone.

As part of the IAS seminar, well-founded information, practical recommendations and a lively discussion were offered. The participants had the opportunity to test their strategic skills in a business game and to deal with challenges in location analysis and the guarantee of the market position. The aim of the individual acoustician service is to support individual acoustics in achieving market leadership at their location.

In addition to the discussion on securing the location, the IAS seminar offered numerous other content that are useful for everyday work in hearing acoustic shops. As an industrial partner of the meeting, the manufacturer Starkey informed about the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in hearing aids and AI-supported tools for adaptation. Other topics were the use of sound demos, possibilities for reducing locking effects, advantages of early ear impression, new approaches in direct marketing of hearing acoustic companies and the conduct of personal discussions. The IAS seminar also offered visitors numerous options for individual contacts and mutual networking.

The seminar was rated as positive by visitors and organizers. The proven mix of specialist and industry topics as well as the collegial exchange was again very successful. The strategic securing of the location was a particularly outstanding topic. The individual acoustician service aims to support its members with innovative solutions in all relevant corporate areas. It is not just about the fact that owner -managed specialist shops continue to exist in addition to the large providers, but also that individual acoustics can achieve or defend market leadership at their location. With high -quality craftsmanship, passionate service, clever strategies and a strong community, owner -managed specialty shops have excellent conditions.
